Boris Bosnich BA, MBA, MAICD

Boris is a highly regarded business executive and director with over 30 years of experience in business ownership, direct investment and board roles. He has expertise and skills in the areas of corporate finance, capital raising, commercial operations, business development and general management. As a pragmatic and commercially-minded strategic thinker, Boris has a keen interest in developing an organisation’s sustainable growth potential and bringing inspired vision and innovation to reality.

Boris is an Honorary Adjunct Fellow (University of South Australia) holds a Bachelor of Economics degree (University of Adelaide) and an MBA (University of South Australia). He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Managing Director

Conor McKenna BA, GDBA, MBA(Adv)

Conor has nearly 30 years’ commercial experience, as an entrepreneur, strategic advisor and business owner. His last venture was sold to a US multi-national. Conor is responsible for setting the organisational strategic direction and management of the financial, commercial, operational and human resources aspects of the business.

Executive Director – Clinical Operations

Joanna Buttfield BAppSc(OT)(Hons), BA

Founder of Kid Sense, Joanna has more than 20 years’ experience as a paediatric Occupational Therapist and has been a business owner since 1998. A treating therapist, Joanna is responsible for managing the organisation’s clinical operations, as well as leading the clinical team.


Rick Albertini

A highly experienced and qualified Chartered Accountant, Rick Albertini is Managing Partner of Brentnalls SA. He works closely with the Managing Director on the strategic financial planning of the Kid Sense business.

Brentnalls SA is part of a national affiliation, with expertise, networks and resources to support clients achieving their financial goals. The Brentnalls SA team has a long and valued history of services to the medical and allied health professionals’ sector. The Medical and Allied Health Services division draws on its strong collective experience and depth of health industry knowledge. They are involved at state and national levels of the health sector, striving to remain abreast of changes and challenges.

People and businesses in the health sector have very specific tax, accounting and financial services needs, so Brentnalls SA ensure that whilst the medical or allied health professional is looking after people’s health, the team is helping look after the business’ financial health.

Their services assist in managing the ever changing complex and demanding environment of the sector. The majority of their work is providing education and strategic assistance to health businesses to address core issues; providing guidance and advice to improve viability and enhance growth potential.


Mark Watson MBA, BEc, CA

Mark is the Head of the Blue Sky Adelaide office and an Investment Director in the Private Equity and Venture Capital division of Blue Sky Alternative Investments Limited.  Mark is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years’ experience including 5 years’ international experience in the United Kingdom.  Mark was Chief Executive Officer of Water Utilities Group WUG, a South Australian headquartered business that specialises in the ownership and operation of water infrastructure assets and water utilities, until its acquisition by Colonial First State Global Asset Management in late 2016.

Prior to joining Blue Sky in 2013, Mark was a partner at KPMG, leading the Adelaide Corporate Finance practice, specialising in M&A, valuations, due diligence, independent business reviews, financial modelling, strategic planning, capital management and capital raisings (debt and equity). Before joining KPMG, Mark was a partner at a local Adelaide accounting firm, mhm, until joining KPMG in 2009. Prior to that, Mark was the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Wirra Wirra Vineyards, held senior management positions at FH Faulding and Co Limited and was a senior manager at PwC in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Mark is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Economics (BEc) from the University of Adelaide.


Michael Ng BCom, GAICD

Michael is a finance professional who has worked across Investment Banking, Private Equity, Venture Capital and Business Development in Australia, the United States and Asia. He has developed a strong execution capability and is able to evaluate investments across a wide range of industry verticals and geographical markets.

Michael currently works as an Investment Manager at Blue Sky Venture Capital, a division of the alternative asset manager Blue Sky Alternative Investments Limited. At Blue Sky, Michael has been responsible for originating, evaluating and executing new investment opportunities, as well as actively managing existing portfolio companies. He currently observes or sits on a number of company boards which span a diverse range of industries.

Michael previously worked in Investment Banking at Citigroup, a tier-one multinational financial services corporation headquartered in the United States. During his tenure at Citigroup, Michael was part of the General Industrials and Financial Sponsors team in Sydney and Melbourne, specifically focused on healthcare, services and technology. Michael also completed an intensive training program at Citigroup’s head office in New York and spent two months as part of the Business Development team of a leading ASX10 company. Prior to this, Michael spent time working in Corporate Finance in the United States and Asia.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and is a Graduate of the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Michael is actively involved in the community as a Mentor in the Techstars and Innovyz accelerator programs, as well as an Assessment Panel Member for the University of Adelaide’s CAS funding program. He was previously the Co-President of the Finance Association of Western Australia.


Andrew Larsen BCS, MCS, MBA

Andrew is passionate about Australian entrepreneurship.

Andrew co-founded Perth’s tech-focused co-working space; SyncLabs and is the Investment Director at Larsen Ventures; an active investor in early-stage technology.

Andrew is a Venture Partner @ Tempus Partners, and a non-exec Director @ Healthengine and Education Horizons Group (EHG) and a counsellor @ the Australian Institute of Management in Western Australia (AIM WA).

Andrew is enthusiastically supportive of local innovation, and showcasing Australian technology on the world stage. Andrew is an active judge, mentor, and adviser within the Australian ecosystem.

He holds an MBA from Simon Fraser University (Vancouver, BC) along with a Master in Computer Security from Edith Cowan University and a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Western Australia.

Paulette Kolarz – HR Consultant

Paulette is the Managing Director of BespokeHR and is widely recognised as a leading expert in Human Resource Management. Paulette works with Kid Sense Child Development in addition to a number of other companies to help assist building happy, high performing and engaging workplaces that support people operating at their best.

BespokeHR is an Australian company specialising in helping companies attract, manage, develop and transition their people where required. Paulette is a specialist in HR Strategy, HR and Operations, Leadership & Management Development, HR related training, recruitment and success Coaching. Paulette has worked across various industries including Health, Retail, Sales, Professional Services, Finance & Banking, Hospitality, Property, Arts, Not for Profit Organisations, Youth Sectors and Government.

Anna Nixon-Smith – Marketing Consultant

Anna is a Chartered Marketer with over 20 years’ experience in marketing. As Kid Sense’s Marketing Consultant, Anna works closely with the Directors and management team of the business to ensure the Kid Sense message is reaching the people that matter most: parents and carers of children with developmental challenges.

Anna is an external consultant to Kid Sense and is the Principal Consultant of Breathe Marketing, a marketing consulting firm in Adelaide, South Australia. Breathe Marketing was established in 2006 after Anna emigrated from the UK. Prior to setting up Breathe Marketing, Anna held different marketing positions in growing businesses, the most recent being head of marketing for a large professional services listed company in the UK.

As well as providing marketing consulting services to Kid Sense, Anna works with many other privately-owned South Australian businesses. Her work involves all aspects of marketing including marketing planning, copywriting, digital marketing, websites, social media, marketing communications, direct marketing, internal communications, advertising, sponsorship and event management.

Grant Law – PR Consultant

Grant Law is a Public Relations consultant with over 20 years of local and international experience. He has consulted to companies and organisations in many sectors including: Professional Services, Not-For-Profit, Education, Health, FMCG, Local and State Government, IT, Property and Development and more. Grant specialises in Corporate Communication, Public Relations, traditional and online reputation management (social media), communication strategy and implementation, crisis and issues management.

Rachael Turner – Finance Consultant

Our finance manager, Rachael Turner and her team (Lucent Financial), work with Kid Sense to provide an outsourced solution that focuses on robust and sustainable financial management. With a hands-on approach Rachael is very much a part and valued member of the Kid Sense team.

Rachael is a Chartered Certified Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser with over 15 years diverse experience in Australia and the UK. At Lucent, she draws on her experience in the commercial sector, where she worked in top-tier corporations including British Airways and the British Airport Authority in the UK, and Origin Energy, ARTC and BAE Systems in Australia, to provide expert advice and business strategies.

Rachael understands first hand the top quality financial systems employed by major companies. It’s her belief that these same impeccable systems and high-level advisory should be accessible by businesses of every size. Gerry Cawson – Legal Consultant
