Conor McKenna BA, GDBA, MBA(Adv)

Conor has nearly 30 years’ commercial experience, as an entrepreneur, strategic advisor and business owner. His last venture was sold to a US multi-national. Conor is responsible for setting the organisational strategic direction and management of the financial, commercial, operational and human resources aspects of the business.

Executive Director – Clinical Operations

Joanna Buttfield BAppSc(OT)(Hons), BA

Founder of Kid Sense, Joanna has more than 20 years’ experience as a paediatric Occupational Therapist and has been a business owner since 1998. A treating therapist, Joanna is responsible for managing the organisation’s clinical operations, as well as leading the clinical team.

Non-executive Director

Boris Bosnich BA, MBA, MAICD

Boris is a highly regarded business executive and director with over 30 years of experience in business ownership, direct investment and board roles. He has expertise and skills in the areas of corporate finance, capital raising, commercial operations, business development and general management. As a pragmatic and commercially-minded strategic thinker, Boris has a keen interest in developing an organisation’s sustainable growth potential and bringing inspired vision and innovation to reality.

Boris is an Honorary Adjunct Fellow (University of South Australia) holds a Bachelor of Economics degree (University of Adelaide) and an MBA (University of South Australia). He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Non-executive Director

Kate Thiele MBA, Dip AppSc., FAICD

Kate is an accomplished non-executive director with expertise in marketing, PR, fundraising, business development and board governance. Her recent experience has been in the disability sector, reshaping organisations to respond to the NDIS. Kates current board roles include the Crows Childrens Foundation, the Adelaide Festival Centre and the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia.

Paulette Kolarz – HR Consultant

Paulette is the Managing Director of BespokeHR and is widely recognised as a leading expert in Human Resource Management. Paulette works with Kid Sense Child Development in addition to a number of other companies to help assist building happy, high performing and engaging workplaces that support people operating at their best.

BespokeHR is an Australian company specialising in helping companies attract, manage, develop and transition their people where required. Paulette is a specialist in HR Strategy, HR and Operations, Leadership & Management Development, HR related training, recruitment and success Coaching. Paulette has worked across various industries including Health, Retail, Sales, Professional Services, Finance & Banking, Hospitality, Property, Arts, Not for Profit Organisations, Youth Sectors and Government.

Anna Nixon-Smith – Marketing Consultant

Anna is a Chartered Marketer with over 20 years’ experience in marketing. As Kid Sense’s Marketing Consultant, Anna works closely with the Directors and management team of the business to ensure the Kid Sense message is reaching the people that matter most: parents and carers of children with developmental challenges.

Anna is an external consultant to Kid Sense and is the Principal Consultant of Breathe Marketing, a marketing consulting firm in Adelaide, South Australia. Breathe Marketing was established in 2006 after Anna emigrated from the UK. Prior to setting up Breathe Marketing, Anna held different marketing positions in growing businesses, the most recent being head of marketing for a large professional services listed company in the UK.

As well as providing marketing consulting services to Kid Sense, Anna works with many other privately-owned South Australian businesses. Her work involves all aspects of marketing including marketing planning, copywriting, digital marketing, websites, social media, marketing communications, direct marketing, internal communications, advertising, sponsorship and event management.

Grant Law – PR Consultant

Grant Law is a Public Relations consultant with over 20 years of local and international experience. He has consulted to companies and organisations in many sectors including: Professional Services, Not-For-Profit, Education, Health, FMCG, Local and State Government, IT, Property and Development and more. Grant specialises in Corporate Communication, Public Relations, traditional and online reputation management (social media), communication strategy and implementation, crisis and issues management.

Kid Sense has a vision of becoming the most trusted brand in child development in South Australia and it’s Grant’s job – through traditional and online media – to introduce Kid Sense’s unique approach, expertise and services to families with children who have personal and/or physical developmental challenges.

Rachael Turner – Finance Consultant

Our finance manager, Rachael Turner and her team (Lucent Financial), work with Kid Sense to provide an outsourced solution that focuses on robust and sustainable financial management. With a hands-on approach Rachael is very much a part and valued member of the Kid Sense team.

Rachael is a Chartered Certified Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser with over 15 years diverse experience in Australia and the UK. At Lucent, she draws on her experience in the commercial sector, where she worked in top-tier corporations including British Airways and the British Airport Authority in the UK, and Origin Energy, ARTC and BAE Systems in Australia, to provide expert advice and business strategies.

Rachael understands first hand the top quality financial systems employed by major companies. It’s her belief that these same impeccable systems and high-level advisory should be accessible by businesses of every size. Once described by a business owner as ‘having a lucent light on your numbers’, Rachael makes it her business to ensure your business has a clear path to prosperity.

Gerry Cawson – Legal Consultant

Gerry Cawson is a Director at Kain Lawyers, a specialist legal consulting company that specialises in complex transactions, advice and disputes. The Brentnalls SA team has a long and valued history of services to the medical and allied health professionals’ sector. The Medical and Allied Health Services division draws on its strong collective experience and depth of health industry knowledge. They are involved at state and national levels of the health sector, striving to remain abreast of changes and challenges.

People and businesses in the health sector have very specific tax, accounting and financial services needs, so Brentnalls SA ensure that whilst the medical or allied health professional is looking after people’s health, the team is helping look after the business’ financial health.
