Cultural Inclusivity

You are welcome here!

We acknowledge the land on which we operate as the traditional lands of the Kaurna people and pay our respects to the spiritual relationship with country that all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples hold.

Kid Sense is founded on inclusion and the belief that everyone is welcome. All diversity is celebrated, encouraged, represented, and supported in our staff, our clients, and our community.

Our Team

Our team at Kid Sense values diversity. We are a team comprised of therapists from a variety of cultural backgrounds and diversities working together in an inclusive environment. We aim to honour cultural and religious practises and value diverse ways of thinking.

Our team engages in regular cultural education to ensure we are always growing and evolving in how we can be an inclusive practice.

What can we offer?

  • Access to multilingual therapists – ask our friendly staff if anyone on our team has the same cultural background/speaks the same language and we will aim to match you up with the most appropriate therapist.
  • Welcome onsite translation.
  • Neurodiverse therapists.
  • Taking therapy into a neutral environment (e.g. home, park, school, grandparent’s house).
  • Ability to visit the clinic site prior to attending an assessment to familiarise children and their families with the space and to briefly meet the therapist.
  • Access to Cultural Consultants to support understanding and ensure needs are being met.
  • Triage call before your assessment so that the therapist you are seeing has a general understanding about your background, culture and/or religious practises.
  • Our therapists seek to understand your culture and reflect on ways in which they can incorporate cultural diversity into your child’s therapy sessions.
  • We are always open to feedback on how we can improve our services.
